1926 Elto Rudder Twin Super G SOLD 2/20/2016
This is an aesthetically restored 1926 elto ruddertwin super g model...as you can see in the pictures, this is a work of art.
The ruddertwin was ole evinrude's second ever design and his first design under the company "elto." It destroyed the competition in the 20's with its light weight aluminum design and a relatively high starting likelihood. It was also cool because you could steer it away from the spinning flywheel dubbed the "knuckle buster" with ropes which route through the y shaped part that looks like a horse carriage reign holder. I am very proud of this restoration because of he highly polished parts, anything that is paint is actually powder coated, and I tried to save the tank and the original decals and script. The tank shows so much of its character and tells a story of its life. I think it would have been cruel to strip the original decal and cool vintage script so I cleaned it up and clear coated over all of it to preserve it for years.
Every part was taken apart cleaned and either polished, powder coated or clear coated.
I can include the stand if you hit buy it now.
It is a piece of Americana and folk art that anyone can appreciate. This is being sold as a display piece although I'm sure it would not take much to get it running again as these old motors are pretty simple.
